At DHL Cambridge, Evitec launched a comprehensive green initiative, combining the installation of 23 electric vehicle (EV) chargers with a 100kW solar panel system. This project was designed to enhance DHL’s sustainability efforts and improve operational efficiency. Evitec’s work spanned electrical infrastructure, line marking, and solar panel fitting, creating a future-ready charging network powered by renewable energy.

EV Charger Installation: We installed 23 Rolec Quantum EV chargers, known for their durability, multi-vehicle charging capabilities, and remote monitoring. Our electricians conducted a full site survey to assess the electrical load and installed tailored infrastructure, including power supply integration, dynamic load balancing, and network connectivity. These steps ensure efficient energy use and smooth operations, allowing DHL to monitor and manage energy consumption across its depots.

Line Marking and Site Preparation: Each charging bay was clearly marked with high-visibility line markings for easy identification and adherence to parking protocols. The chargers were positioned for maximum accessibility, aligning with DHL’s operational needs and ensuring smooth fleet management.

Solar Panel Installation: Evitec installed a 100kW solar PV system to power both the EV chargers and DHL’s operational energy requirements. The system featured high-efficiency solar panels and advanced inverters to convert solar energy into usable electricity, seamlessly integrated with the depot’s electrical infrastructure. The solar system was linked to an energy management unit that prioritised solar power for charging, reducing reliance on grid electricity and lowering energy costs.
